Description

Grassroots are working in partnership with students, families and the community to achieve excellence for all.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and conscientious individual to join our Performing Arts Faculty as a Teacher of PE on a maternity cover basis.

This role is suitable for both ECTs and experienced teachers. We are looking for someone who is passionate about their subject, innovative in the classroom and ambitious for both their students and their own professional development.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large, inclusive and ambitious school community that places a high value on professional development and strives for “excellence in all” through outstanding teaching and learning.

A popular and highly respected secondary school and sixth form with a long-standing reputation for excellence within the local community.

As a truly comprehensive school, inclusivity and the development of the whole child are central to our ethos. We are proud to provide a happy, diverse and supportive environment where all members of our community can thrive.

A vibrant and forward-thinking school, rated ‘Good’ by OFSTED, with high expectations for both staff and students who offer:

  • A broad and well-designed curriculum
  • Excellent specialist teaching and subject expertise
  • Strong support for students with additional needs
  • A high-quality KS5 curriculum that prepares students for future success and deeper subject understanding

Our collaborative culture is a key strength. Staff value the supportive working environment and students are proud to be part of the school community.

We are proud of our strong academic outcomes, commitment to inclusion and the opportunities we provide for all students to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Why Join Us?

We believe our people are our greatest asset. Whatever your role within our school, you can be certain that your work will have purpose and impact.

Every member of staff enjoys:

  • A rewarding and stimulating career focused on making a difference
  • Being part of a supportive and ambitious team
  • Access to excellent professional development opportunities
  • Flexible working arrangements and staff wellbeing support
  • Opportunities for career progression and leadership development
  • A welcoming and inclusive school community

Staff Wellbeing and Development

We are committed to enabling every student to maximise their potential through high-quality education — and that starts with investing in our staff.

We place great emphasis on:

  • Staff wellbeing
  • Community and collaboration
  • Career development and progression
  • High-quality training opportunities

If you inspire young people and want to develop your career in a thriving and ambitious school, we would love to hear from you.

To apply for this role you must have the following:

* Qualified Teacher Status

* A proven teaching record and/or high quality references

* A recent and clear DBS Disclosure (a new one can be applied for)

* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
