Teacher of Religious Education

Grass Roots Academic Support is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Religious Education Teacher / Secondary Religious Education Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity for a Qualified Religious Education Teacher or ECT to teach Religious Education across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, engaging and motivating students while helping them achieve their full potential.

As a Religious Education Teacher, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• teaching engaging and ambitious Religious Education lessons across the age and ability range
• develop students’ knowledge of religious and non-religious worldviews
• encourage thoughtful discussion, critical thinking and respectful debate
• help students explore significant philosophical, moral and ethical questions
• assess students’ understanding accurately and use this to support their progress
• work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver and further strengthen the curriculum
• contribute positively to the wider life of the school
• be supported through shared planning, professional development and, if relevant, a strong ECT programme

The successful Religious Education Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching Religious Education within a secondary school setting.
• Experience teaching Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4.
• A proven teaching record and/or high-quality references.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to engage, motivate and inspire students.
• A good understanding of the National Curriculum.
• A current Enhanced DBS Disclosure, or willingness to complete a new DBS application where required.
• The right to work in the UK.
• A commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal development.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Religious Education Teacher or Secondary Religious Education Teacher to join a successful school in Suffolk on a Maternity Cover contract. The role offers an MPR/UPR salary, 3 days per week (Mon – Wed). ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply.
