About the School

The school provides education for children and young people aged 6–16 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). With a calm, nurturing, and inclusive approach, the school delivers a highly personalised curriculum that balances academic achievement with social communication, independence, wellbeing, and preparation for adulthood.

The school's vision is:

"Encouraging every student through learning, creativity and adventure to become a kind, respectful and independent young adult prepared for the future."

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils both individually and in small groups. You will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop confidence, build positive relationships, and achieve their full potential.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:

  • Experience working within an SEN, SEND, or SEMH setting.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, particularly autism.
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • A patient, calm, and caring approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.

What We Offer

  • A welcoming and supportive school community.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • A rewarding role where you can make a meaningful impact every day.
  • The opportunity to work within a dedicated and experienced team.

Additional Information

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Undertake further training as required by the school.
  • Complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Comply with the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009 where applicable.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and would like to be part of a school that values inclusion, respect, and individual achievement, we would love to hear from you.
