- Grass Roots Academic Support is seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join a successful team in specialist facility for young people with complex behavioural issues including mental health.
The staff team caters for KS1-3 students and includes therapeutic professionals alongside education staff to provide a holistic approach to meeting the needs of the children and families. As classroom teacher you will be planning organising and leading the educational provision for a group of 6-7 young people. You will be using your high quality teaching expertise to engage and develop the young people in your care, supported by a team of support assistants and therapy staff. You be working in a challenging environment with a high level of support and the opportunity to witness rapid progress and genuine change. This post requires a high level of initiative and independent working and we are looking for a candidate who has worked in the school sector with challenging students. Suitable candidates will be able to work well under their own initiative and have high levels of resilience, excellent ICT and administrative skills and an exemplary attendance record.
The school are offering a full time permanent position.

* Qualified Teacher Status or related teaching degree
* A proven teaching record and/or high quality references
* A recent and clear DBS Disclosure (a new one can be applied for)
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
